What a great little machine. It is great for on the go quilt retreats, guild meetings, sew-ins or scrapbooking. There are dies for quilt blocks, strip cutters and appliqué' pieces. You can cut out the pieces for your blocks, add some appliqué, and use the strip cutters to cut out your borders and binding. So easy and quick! Each die has a free pattern included with it.

FALL IS HERE

We have some great new fabrics to celebrate the warm and cozy colors of the season. Gobble Gobble has pumpkins and a rich palette of browns, golds, greens, oranges and reds.

For a more tonal grouping we have Pumpkins and Spice. The colors are more muted and Whimsical with cats, sunflowers and pumpkins in softer tones.

We also have a new collection called Evening Mist. This is one of the most beautiful collections I have ever seen. I just love looking at all of them and seeing the different color combinations that can be pulled together. The colors are subtle but compliment each other without overpowering. These fabrics will be great for blended quilts or that Blooming Nine Patch we all want to make at least once.

Look for specials on pattern, books, fat quarters and kits to be included.

MY BLOG IS FINALLY
WORKING AGAIN!!

It has been a while since I have shared anything on my blog. We have been busy with lots of quilt shows in the last several months. We have one more show left for this year. We will be at the Fort Worth Texas quilt show "Log Cabin - Timeless Treasures" on September 18-20. If you are in the area come and visit our booth at the show.

We have made so many new friends at all the shows. One special friend is Pattie Stevens. Pattie owns "The Quilting House" in Breckenridge Texas. She has been so much help and has been such an encourager to us in our first year of business. We have visited Pattie and her husband Steve on several occasions. If you are ever in the Breckenridge Texas area you must stop by and see them. The quilt shop is in their home. They have a beautiful older home where they live upstairs and the quilt shop is in the downstairs area. The house itself is just fabulous with all of the original woodworking around the doors and the fantastic staircase.

They are both really creative people. Patti of course does her beautiful quilt construction and hand turned needle appliqué. She has been long arm quilting professionally for the public for about 5 years. She did the quilting on the Best of Show quilt in the Abilene Quilt Show this year. Steven is also blessed with a creative side. He makes his own guitars from fantastic exotic woods. They are entirely hand made and each one is a unique design he has created. He also does bamboo fly rods, he's made several pieces of furniture in their home including their 4 poster bed and several other wood projects. The creativity between the both of them is just a totally humbling experience for me.

Patti is now a dealer for Handi Quilter. We recently sold our long arm machine and switched to the HQ Sixteen from them. It takes up less space and is a real gem. They came out yesterday and got us set up. We finished our first quilt on it today. A lot of people I talk to or have read about name their machines so we have christened her "Hanna" the Handi Quilter. It is truly a great machine.

They are affordable and adjustable to your space. We have ours set up at 8 feet. Perfect for my ever shrinking space. If you are thinking about a long arm check out Handi Quilter.

Back Porch Bouquet

I just love the new fabric collection we have just received called Back Porch Bouquet. It has blues, greens, pinks and violets with a few neutral brown prints added. It makes me think about my four beautiful daughters. My Valarie is vibrant and lively like the violet which is her favorite color. My Keri is my girly girl and loves pink. Her smile is as bright as the pink in the flowers. My Amy is like the sunshine in a beautiful blue sky. My Ronnda brings color to everything and everyone like the green of a fresh spring morning.

One of the great new patterns is called 5 & Dime designed by Mary Anne Spada of All Washed Up. It comes in a lap or twin size and it so easy. The pattern is made from fat quarters and one focus fabric.

The lap requires 6 fat quarters and the twin requires 11 fat quarters. As soon as I can get them cut and packaged we will have quilt kits available with this pattern.

Off To College

The holidays are almost over and everyone is running around getting kids ready for school and teenagers ready for college. This is the perfect time to make those last minute gifts for them. No matter if this is the first time for your teen to go to college or if they are veterans they need to have something made special for them to take to their new home away from home.

A special quilt, or maybe a bag to bring home their laundry (be prepared) a pair of crazy pajama bottoms or maybe a cheerful pillowcase in the colors they love.

Fall and winter always brings changes in our lives and the colors we look for in our quilting projects seem to go from bright and lively to rich and warm. We have been getting new fabrics in like crazy for the past month. We have new lines for Fall and Winter. They are all so beautiful. Check our website to browse through all the new items. I am sure there will be something there for everyone.

I would love to hear your back to school stories. I have four grown daughters and I remember so many back to school times especially dropping them off at college and leaving them. I cried more than they did.

One good thing that comes from back to school is the extra time you will have to sew. I have so many new things I want to make from all the new fabrics I need a longer season.
